Ja'Kobi Lane's impressive NFL debut just keeps getting better.
The Baltimore Ravens rookie wide receiver caught his first NFL touchdown Saturday night, connecting with fellow rookie Joe Fagnano on a 15-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter against the Philadelphia Eagles. The score put Baltimore ahead 6-0 and gave Lane another major highlight in a preseason debut that has quickly lived up to the hype surrounding him throughout training camp.
Lane entered Saturday's game as one of the most anticipated Ravens rookies to watch after consistently making difficult catches during practices. That attention carried over immediately once he got into game action. Lane recorded his first NFL reception earlier in the game, a 19-yard catch across the middle, before adding the touchdown.
Through the first half of his debut, Lane had three receptions for 38 yards and a touchdown, giving Baltimore another encouraging sign from its rookie wide receiver. His performance comes after a training camp in which he emerged as one of the team's most talked-about young players. ESPN identified Lane as the star of Ravens training camp, while his contested catches became a regular feature of Baltimore's practices.
