Italiano and Allegri set to meet Napoli after Conte’s exit

Vincenzo Italiano and Massimiliano Allegri are expected to meet with Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis shortly as the Partenopei chase a replacement for Antonio Conte.

Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Bologna coach Italiano and ex-Milan boss Allegri are set to meet with Napoli in the coming days to discuss their availability to replace Conte at the Stadio Maradona.

Italiano and Allegri to meet with Napoli​


Italiano is under contract with Bologna, but according to Sportitalia’s Alfredo Pedullà and Luca Cilli, he’ll inform the Rossoblu that he wants to leave.

The two parties are expected to meet today as Italiano has been spotted in Rome alongside his agents.

Both Sky Sport and Sportitalia report that Italiano is the leading candidate for the Napoli job, even though Allegri remains in the frame.

Di Marzio reports that Napoli owner De Laurentiis and director Giovanni Manna will meet both Italiano and Allegri shortly before taking a final decision.

According to Pedullà, Andoni Iraola has never been a genuine candidate for Napoli, while Milan are interested in the Spaniard as Allegri’s replacement.
