Is Steph Curry playing vs. Grizzlies tonight? Final status for Warriors star originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Golden State Warriors suffered a disappointing 113-109 loss to the lowly New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night, but they won't have long to dwell on it as they'll be right back in action against the Grizzlies in Memphis on Wednesday night.
But, they still won't have their star guard available.
Steph Curry ruled out vs. Grizzlies due to nagging knee injury
Once again, Steph Curry has been officially ruled out of the game against the Grizzlies due to a lingering knee injury that the team has identified as right patellofemoral pain syndrome, a.k.a. "runner's knee” – an injury defined by pain and swelling around the kneecap area.
It will be the ninth consecutive game missed by Curry due to the injury. In fact, the star guard hasn't played a single game in the month of February. His last game action came back on Jan. 30 against the Detroit Pistons.
Curry is expected to be re-evaluated at the end of the month. An update regarding his status should be provided at that point.
On the season, Curry has appeared in 39 games for the Warriors and he's averaging 27.2 points, 4.8 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.1 steals per performance.
The meeting between Golden State and Memphis will be the third and final of the season. The Warriors won both of the previous matchups.
