Right now, Notre Dame baseball is hitting its stride, as they’ve won three straight ACC series with this past weekends the biggest, taking two of three from Louisville.

The Irish have an overall record of 26-19, and while it’s not overtly impressive, they’re making a run at the right time. According to D1Baseball, Notre Dame is currently on the outside looking in to make the tournament as one of the teams that are first four out, but that is extremely encouraging.

The good news is that there is still time for Notre Dame to sneak into the field, with a weekend series hosting Bowling Green, a midweek game against Eastern Michigan and the final ACC series against Miami starting on May 15th still remaining on the schedule. Then the conference tournament, to potentially add a few wins there.

If the Irish can win 5 of their final 7 games and a couple in the tourney, there is a really good chance they could get one of the final bids for the NCAA Tournament. This is clearly head coach Shawn Stiffler’s best team, and one that could make some noise in the postseason.
