Some potentially great news for former Duke ace Maliq Brown, as he appears to have made a solid impression in the run-up to the draft, and now, he may have moved up near the top of the second round.

Yahoo’s Kevin O’Connor has a mock draft up, and he has Brown going to the Los Angeles Clippers with the #36 pick.

Duke fans know the impact that Brown can have on nearly every play. O’Connor says that his big flaw is that he can’t shoot, but his defense is too good to overlook. He might have mentioned his passing, too. One of the magical things about this past year’s Duke team is that Brown, Cameron Boozer, and Patrick Ngongba were all superb passing big men. It was a tough thing for any team to deal with.

That’s the good news about O’Connor’s mock draft. The bad?

He has Isaiah Evans dropping to the second round.
