Is Joel Embiid playing vs. Pacers tonight? Final status for 76ers star originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Philadelphia 76ers won’t have long to dwell on their 113-102 loss to the Houston Rockets on Thursday night, as they’ll be right back in action against the Pacers in Indiana on Friday night.
Unfortunately, the Sixers will continue to be without their star center for the matchup.
Joel Embiid ruled out vs. Pacers following appendicitis surgery
Joel Embiid won't play against Indiana after undergoing an emergency appendicitis surgery in Houston on Wednesday.
It will be the second consecutive game missed by Embiid, and at this point a potential return timeline for the big man hasn't been provided. His status moving forward is uncertain.
On the season, Embiid has played in just 38 games for Philly and has posted averages of 26.9 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.2 blocks per performance.
After the game against Indiana, the Sixers will have just one regular season game remaining on their schedule. That will come against the Milwaukee Bucks in Philadelphia on Sunday.
With one more loss or one more Toronto Raptors win, the Sixers will be locked into a spot in the NBA Play-In Tournament.
