Is Andrew Luck coming out of retirement? Explaining Colts' QB viral fake rumors on coming back to NFL originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.

The Indianapolis Colts are back in a quarterback nightmare.

They've never really fully escaped it since Andrew Luck's shock retirement on Aug. 24, 2019, but this season, Daniel Jones seemed to have finally pulled Indy out of those dumps.

That is, until Jones tore his Achilles on Sunday.

Anthony Richardson is already out injured, and now rookie QB3 Riley Leonard may be hurt, too.

The Colts are turning over every stone, including having Philip Rivers in for a workout.

What about Luck, though? There's a rumor out there, but it turns out it isn't true.

Is Andrew Luck coming out of retirement?

No, Andrew Luck is not ending his retirement to come back to the NFL.

He's the general manager of the football program at his alma mater, Stanford, and that doesn't appear to be changing.

This post, from an account with the word "satire" in its bio, is what has people thinking Luck may return:

Luck isn't coming back, though. He's content in the next chapter of his life.

Since Luck, the Colts have started Jacoby Brissett, Brian Hoyer, Philip Rivers, Carson Wentz, Matt Ryan, Sam Ehlinger, Nick Foles, Gardner Minshew, Anthony Richardson, Joe Flacco and Daniel Jones at QB. Richardson is the only one to have made starts in multiple seasons, and Riley Leonard looked potentially to be coming next, although maybe Rivers will be the one who runs it back instead.
