The Washington Commanders wrapped up their mandatory minicamp on Thursday, and then they'll be away from the field for roughly a month.

During the offseason, GM Adam Peters made several changes to the roster and coaching staff, but there are still questions about whether he did enough on offense to take the pressure off Jayden Daniels and Terry McLaurin. So far, they seem content with what they've done, but they still have cap space and could sign more players before the season starts.

ESPN's Aaron Schatz recently named one free agent that every team should sign, and for the Commanders, it's not a surprise that he suggested a wide receiver.

Sign wide receiver Tyreek Hill

The caveat here is "if healthy," but the Commanders could use a solid No. 2 receiver and a field stretcher who is a step up from Dyami Brown. They are currently third in cap space, so the economics work for them. Jayden Daniels is a dynamic young quarterback who could get the ball out to Hill.

We've seen talk of Stefon Diggs and Bradon Aiyuk heading to Washington, but Tyreek Hill is still a free agent, too. However, given his age and that he's coming off an ACL tear, it's understandable that no one has picked him up yet.

Hill entered the NFL in 2016, and he's faced character questions since his time at Oklahoma State. He was arrested on domestic violence charges, and the school dismissed him from the program. He finished his college career at Western Alabama. The off-field issues have followed Hill throughout his adulthood. There have also been allegations of child abuse.

After spending six seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs and four with the Miami Dolphins, the veteran wide receiver comes with serious baggage. At 32 years old, Hill may still require time to rehab his knee, and it's unlikely he will ever reach the performance level we saw from him in 2022 and 2023 again.

If Adam Peters is smart, even if something crazy happens and the Commanders have to find a receiver, he'll pick someone other than Tyreek Hill.
