Iowa women's basketball to host Oklahoma State transfer portal guard

Iowa women's basketball is busy working to reconstruct its roster.

According to On3's Talia Goodman, Iowa is welcoming in a series of transfer portal visitors over the next few days.

That includes former Oklahoma State guard Amari Whiting. Whiting, a 5-foot-10 guard out of Burley, Idaho, averaged 9.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.8 steals per game last season with the Cowgirls, while shooting 42.5% from the field, 32.1% from 3-point range and 71.6% from the free-throw line.

The 5-10 junior averaged 9.6 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 2.9 apg and 1.8 spg this season.

Whiting began her career at BYU, where she averaged 10.6 points and 10.3 points per game in the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons, respectively.

If the Hawkeyes were to land Whiting, she would bring a wealth of Power Four playing experience. Across her three combined BYU and Oklahoma State seasons, Whiting has played in and started 97 games.
