Fox's Monday afternoon broadcast of IndyCar's Music City Grand Prix received 775,000 viewers. After rain forced IndyCar to postpone the start of a race to a Monday for the first time since 2018, the Music City Grand Prix received more viewers than last year's 12th race of the season at Iowa Speedway (720,000).

IndyCar and Fox planned for the Music City Grand Prix to be one of the most-watched races of the year. The race was set to begin moments after Fox concluded its coverage of the World Cup final between Spain and Argentina, showcasing IndyCar to a decent chunk of the 38.937 million Americans who watched the World Cup final (and the 51.685 who watched the end of the match in extra time).

Instead, Fox's World Cup coverage went off the airwaves and led into an actionless track at Nashville Superspeedway that was under a rain delay. After Fox filled over an hour and a half of time, IndyCar postponed the race to Monday around 9 p.m. Fox's weather delay programming was viewed by 2.878 million.

Through 12 races, IndyCar is averaging 1.884 million viewers per race, which is 17% more than at this point in the 2025 season. This is the second year of IndyCar being on Fox, which now owns one-third of the series.
