Excitement for the 110th Running of the Indianapolis 500 is picking up at porch parties across central Indiana.

Wednesday night, the celebration was at The AMP at 16 Tech on the near west side of Indianapolis. Fans listened to live music, enjoyed great food and even got the chance to hang out with IndyCar driver Scott McLaughlin.

"We love hosting anything IMS-related here at 16 Tech. We're right down the road from the Speedway, it makes perfect sense for us. We also host the 'Bikes of the 500' on Race Day, which is a great way to travel to the race, and then we have one of the 'Welcome Race Fans' murals, as well," said Jacqueline Eckhardt, 16 Tech brand strategy vice president.

Guests at Wednesday's party could also pick up a porch party kit to help decorate their own home for the Indianapolis 500 and enter the official "Porch Party Decorating Contest."

The next community event is scheduled for the Westfield Farmers Market on Thursday, May 14.

The Indianapolis 500 is scheduled to run on Sunday, May 24.
