If Juventus can’t sign Emi Martinez, who should they go for to be their new starting goalkeeper?

We are about to see Juventus played their second friendly of the summer in a few hours. However, it’s fairly safe to say that whichever goalkeeper ends up playing for Juve against Standard Liège in Belgium shouldn’t be the one who is starting for the Bianconeri come the 2026-27 season opener against Frosinone less than a month from now.

That’s right, folks. It’s time to check the calendar.

Today is July 25.

Juventus open the season on Aug. 23.

Over the past few weeks, Juventus have been very much invested in trying to get Aston Villa to budge on their proposal to sign Emi Martinez. It hasn’t worked, and now the likelihood of Juve actually bringing Martinez in this summer seems as unlikely as it has felt since the rumors of their interest first started. And because of it, now the rumors of Juventus pivoting (again) to try and sign a new goalkeeper ahead of the season opener has begun.

A few of those names include names that are both intriguing or less-than impressive.

Guglielmo Vicario?

Zion Suzuki?

Anatoliy Trubin?

Somebody else entirely that we haven’t heard of just yet?

Martinez was the pivot after Juventus weren’t able to secure the signing of Alisson Becker because Liverpool shut the door on that potential move. Now, with the hopes of Juventus signing Martinez seriously fading with each passing day, the reality of a second pivot to a different option in goal is on the table. Good times, ain’t it?

So, with all of that being said, the Juventus Question of the Day is this: If Juventus aren’t able to sign Martinez this summer, who should they go for as a potential solution in goal?
