The Hudson football team is banding together to support one of its own. Hawks captains started a GoFundMe Team Buzz for a Cause: Supporting the Puim family to raise money after the death of Gary Puim, the father of Hudson rising junior Damien Puim.
Gary Puim died May 17 at 44. The Hudson native worked at CCS Concrete in Tewksbury. Puim was a soccer and ice hockey player as well as an avid fisherman.
His wife Guadalupe E. Puim and children Arihanna Puim and Damien Puim survive him.
The GoFundMe seeks to raise $7,000 and had more than $6,500 committed Wednesday morning. It seeks to "provide financial relief for Damein's family," the post reads. The Hawks also committed to shaving their heads in a show of solidarity and support once they reach their goal.
Quarterback Logan Dome and the other Hawks captains conceived the GoFundMe while brainstorming a way to support Damien Puim while they were at the wake.

"It's been great to see the support we've gotten," Dome said.
