Throughout their regular season, the North Carolina Tar Heels faced numerous injuries on the basketball court. In Saturday's 76-61 loss at Duke, UNC (24-7, 12-6 ACC) played without freshman superstar Caleb Wilson.

For a sizable portion of non-conference play, Seth Trimble missed time with a broken forearm. Henri Veesaar missed a couple games with an achilles injury, while Wilson previously broke his hand in the Miami (FL) loss.

After Saturday's rematch with the Blue Devils (29-2, 17-1 ACC), North Carolina head coach Hubert Davis addressed his team's injury bug – and why it has no impact on the record.

"We were either without Seth (Trimble), now with Caleb (Wilson) or Henri (Veesaar)," Hubert said. "In those games, we were 12-3. With a full lineup, we were 12-3. I said we have more than enough to get it done. And I love these kids, I love the fight, the resiliency, the perseverance of this group. I'll roll with this team and this group every day."

Chapel Hill native Jarin Stevenson, who started seeing a sizable minutes increase in Wilson's absence, enjoyed a respectable outing with 10 points and nine rebounds. Freshman point guard Derek Dixon paced the Tar Heel offense, scoring 17 points on 5-of-9 shooting – and two made free throws.

UNC struggled to contain Duke superstar Cameron Boozer, who exploded for a 26-point, 15-rebound double-double. North Carolina turned the basketball over 14 times, while getting out-rebounded 42-29.

The Tar Heels are a resilient bunch. They know how to play without their superstar big men. UNC will be just fine – and there's no need to stress.
