The expansion Portland Fire (12-19) look to beat their Pacific Northwest rival Seattle Storm (6-27) for a third time this season as the teams clash at the Moda Center in Portland on Saturday night.

Portland stopped a five-game losing streak on Thursday night, leading by as much as 27 points in a 97-83 victory over the visiting Toronto Tempo. Carla Leite went for 27 points and 11 assists while Megan DiLeo added 17 points and Bridget Carleton finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
The Storm became the first team eliminated from playoff contention, losing their 10th straight game on Wednesday night in a 92-86 road decision to the New York Liberty. Dominique Malonga had a big night with 31 points and 10 rebounds while Jade Melbourne had 13 points and seven assists. Awa Fam also scored 13 points off the bench.
Leite leads the Fire with averages of 15.9 points and 6.4 assists while Carleton scores 14.3 points per game and Emily Engstler grabs 5.3 rebounds a night. Malonga’s averages of 16.9 points and 8.7 rebounds top Seattle, with Natasha Hiedeman getting 14.9 points and 4.7 assists per game.
