The Memorial Tournament, hosted by legend Jack Nicklaus, will be the seventh time World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and No. 2 Rory McIlroy competed in the same event in 2026.

The six prior events they locked horns in were biggies: two majors, three signature events and the Players. They each have one win in 2026, with Scheffler winning the American Express and McIlroy claiming the Masters. They have a 1-2 finish, coming at Augusta National.

McIlroy has finished better in three of the tournaments, while Scheffler was better in the other three.

Taking a look at the average finish for each in the six events they both played, Scheffler's is 13, while McIlroy's is 14 (but this tosses out the WD he had at the Arnold Palmer).
