When Allison Lamer switched positions, she had the opportunity to show her versatility as a volleyball player.
The Holland Christian junior responded by having one of the best seasons in the state at right-side hitter, earning honorable mention all-state honors.
With 163 kills and 46 blocks from the right side, Lamer's versatility showed she could play anywhere in the front row, something college coaches started to consider.

With one season of her high school career still remaining, Lamer took advantage of her breakout season and committed to play volleyball at Calvin University.
"I choose Calvin because when I went to visit there I left knowing that was where God was calling me to be due to the Christian environment brought into the volleyball program and the school in general," Lamer said. "The team culture and the coach was exactly what I was hoping for."
The Knights are perennially a nationally ranked team and have claimed three NCAA championships.
"Playing volleyball in college is something that I've dreamed of for a long time so I'm so excited and thankful for this amazing opportunity to continue playing the sport I love for a competitive program after high school," Lamer said.
