Houston Rockets receive important schedule dates for NBA Cup and MLK Day

Following Tuesday's news of the Rockets' first primetime matchup this season, Houston received the dates of more important matchups Wednesday. For starters, the Rockets will be part of a Martin Luther King Jr. Day quadruple header. Houston will play January 18 in the nightcap, facing the Memphis Grizzlies on the road.

In addition to an MLK Day game, the Rockets also received their 2026-27 NBA Cup schedule. They'll begin group play October 30 on the road against Cooper Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks. November 13, two weeks later, Houston will host the Utah Jazz. A week after that, the Rockets will face Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets away from home. Finally, the Rockets will finish group play with a home matchup November 25 against the Phoenix Suns.

A season ago, Houston narrowly missed out on advancing to the elimination portion of the tournament, finishing the group stage with a 2-2 record.
