URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — Before taking the field for the first time this fall, transfer quarterback Katin Houser had a chance to meet the fans he will be representing.
Houser hosted a signing and meet-and-greet at Smith Burger at The Yard on Broadway, connecting with fans after arriving on campus back in January.
“It’s just good for the community,” said Houser. “I see a lot of people walking around, and to be able to come out and meet some people face to face, this is awesome
The California native transferred to Illinois after two seasons at East Carolina, throwing for 43 touchdowns in his four years of college football.
“A lot are excited for the season and me as well, just my first time, first season here, so I just want to go out and go play and I’m excited for the season to roll around,” he said.
Illinois opens play on Thursday, September 3 against UAB.
