Hornets @ Suns Sunday game thread 12-19-2021

On Sunday the Suns wrap up their two game home stand against the Charlotte Hornets.

Afterwards they play at the Lakers on Tuesday.

Hornets are 16-15 after losing to the Trail Blazers on Friday.

LaMelo Ball played and had 27 points and 5 assists.

Suns are 23-5 and have won their last two games.

The game will be televised on Bally Sports Arizona.

Start time is scheduled for 6 p.m. Arizona time.

I'm excited for this one. A couple up tempo, high chemistry teams facing off. After seeing that video of Booker taking shots I am marginally hopeful that he will return this game (although I would put it at about a 20% chance, I think he returns on Christmas).

My season ticket crew might try to show up early for the behind the bench bar seating that is first come, first serve. It's also the first time we've had tickets within a few days of each other (I have a half season package).

I don’t mind if Book plays but with Charlotte playing uptempo this game could do one of 2 things/maybe both: He could get his legs back under him and his wind for the Lakers/Warriors games next week but it could also put stress on that hammy if it’s super up and down. I hope we keep him at 25-30 minutes. I’m not saying he’s not 100% but we’re going to need him this week if we expect to beat the Dubs at home.

As Warriors lose at Raptors tonight, the Suns regain first place in the West/League.

Suns are 23-5 while Warriors are 24-6.

A number of Warriors didn't play including Steph Curry.

Wizards beat the Jazz tonight.

The team formerly in front of the Suns (Warriors) and the team behind the Suns (Jazz) both lose tonight.

This should be a fun/tough matchup. Lots of young/talented athletes on that team.

Yeah that was rough…Cards in a free fall. Hopefully the Suns come out ready to rock and roll. This Hornets team is young and they play fast. Let’s control the pace with CP3 and not let them get out in transition.

My six plus decades as a fan of Arizona sports teams suggests you should buy some mouthwash. Counting heavily on the Cards, Suns, Diamondbacks, Coyotes, Sun Devils or Wildcats can be a very risky proposition.
