The New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians, two of the best teams in MLB, renewed their rivalry on Tuesday night, but one of the most memorable moments came from the broadcast booth rather than the field. During Cleveland’s 9-4 victory, Guardians radio broadcaster Tom Hamilton delivered hilarious comments directed at Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. that quickly caught the attention of baseball fans. The comment came less than 24 hours after Chisholm made a high-profile appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Anyone familiar with Chisholm knows he is never afraid to speak with confidence. During his appearance with Fallon, the Yankees star was asked about New York’s outlook for the season and confidently predicted that the Yankees would win the 2026 World Series.
For a player known for his swagger and personality, the prediction was hardly surprising. Chisholm has built a reputation as one of baseball’s most outspoken stars and has never lacked confidence in himself or his team.
However, Hamilton could not resist taking a playful shot during Tuesday’s game.
While discussing Chisholm during the broadcast, Hamilton delivered a line that immediately stood out.
“He predicted the Yankees will win the World Series,” Hamilton said. “Pretty amazing, he got on the Jimmy Fallon Show, hitting .239.”
The comment drew laughs from listeners and quickly spread across social media. Hamilton has long been known as one of baseball’s most entertaining broadcasters, and the veteran radio voice clearly saw an opportunity to have some fun with Chisholm’s recent television appearance.

The timing of Hamilton’s comment became even more fitting as the game unfolded. Cleveland handled New York by a score of 9-4, continuing its strong play against one of the American League’s top contenders. Chisholm finished the night 1-for-4 with a single and two strikeouts.
While one game won’t change the Yankees’ championship aspirations, it certainly gave Guardians fans something to smile about. And thanks to Hamilton’s memorable one-liner, Tuesday’s matchup produced one of the funniest baseball moments of the week.
