The New York Giants ended the season of four players on Saturday, including three key starters, in a flurry of roster moves ahead of a Week 17 game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Left tackle Andrew Thomas (hamstring), center John Michael Schmitz (finger), safety Tyler Nubin (neck), and defensive lineman D.J. Davidson (neck/concussion) were all placed on season-ending injured reserve (IR).
Rookie Marcus Mbow will start in place of Thomas, while Austin Schlottmann and Dane Belton are likely to replace JMS and Nubin, respectively.
With four open spots on the 53-man roster, the Giants signed center Bryan Hudson, defensive lineman Elijah Chatman, safety Raheem Layne, and rookie kicker Ben Sauls from their practice squad.
In a pair of additional roster moves, the Giants also elevated tight end Zach Davidson and running back Dante Miller from their practice squad. It is the first activation for both players, and each has two remaining with only one week to play.
