Dec. 12—GRAND FORKS — Omaha is playing at No. 5 UND in a series opener in Ralph Engelstad Arena. UND swept a series between the teams in November in Omaha.
Time: 7:07 p.m.
Place: Ralph Engelstad Arena.
TV: Midco Sports (GF Ch. 27/622 HD).

UND 1, Omaha 0 — Ben Strinden 10 6:55. Strinden intercepts a Marcus Broberg breakout pass, skates in on the right side and fires one underneath Omaha goalie Dawson Cowan, who replaced an injured Simon Latkoczy less than two minutes into the game. It's Hockey Fights Cancer weekend at The Ralph and Strinden has a point to the sky for his father, Tom, after the goal.
UND 2, Omaha 0 — Jack Kernan 2 (Ellis Rickwood, Dylan James) 9:28 (pp). Kernan, on the power play for the absent Cole Reschny, gets his second goal of the season (the other one also came against Omaha). Kernan flies up the right wing and fires it five-hole on Cowan.

UND's Dylan James has scored six college goals against Latkoczy and nine against Omaha. . . James also scored three on Latkoczy in the 2022 Clark Cup Finals. . . UND's Jack Kernan and Anthony Menghini both have one goal this year — it came against Omaha. . . Maverick defenseman Marc Lajoie scored in both games against UND last month. . . The Mavericks only managed one even-strength goal in that series.
