All or nothing. Do or die. Win or go home. Whichever saying you choose, this is the situation at hand for the Colorado Avalanche in a forced Game 7 against the Dallas Stars. The winner of tonight's game moves on to Round Two of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

This series between the Avalanche and the Stars is just one of two series during round one that went to Game 7, the other being the series between the Winnipeg Jets and the St. Louis Blues. The winner of that series will play the winner of Avalanche vs. Stars in Round Two.

The Avalanche sat on the brink of elimination on Thursday night when they hosted the Stars in Denver at Ball Arena. With the pressure on due to the series tilted in the Stars' favor at 3-2, Colorado put on a dominant third period, the final score being 7-4. The Avalanche outshot Dallas 48-26.

Game 6 was a huge game for the top guys on the team, namely Cale Makar, Devon Toews, Nathan MacKinnon, and Gabe Landeskog, who all ended the game at a +3. Martin Necas found a goal for the first time this postseason.

Roster Updates:

No updates/clarification on a starting roster for the Colorado Avalanche following morning skate today. Mackenzie Blackwood has been the starter for all six games, so not seeing him get the start tonight would be a shock.

Dallas Head Coach Pete DeBoer confirmed following morning skate that the lineup for his team will be the same, and that includes Jake Oettinger getting his seventh straight start in net.

Oettinger has been the X-factor for Dallas this series, putting up heart-stuttering saves that gave the Stars a chance in every single game this series.

Poise is a great word for him. I think that's exactly how I would describe him. He's got a history. I saw a stat before the game, you know game four, five, six, seven of series. I've said he gets better as the series goes on as he works his way into it. In my history with him, that's how he's looked at the most important times of the series. He's been rock solid like that. And he had a real composure and poise to him tonight, even when it got to 3-2. He made some saves look easy that were difficult, and that's what we need.
