Florida State went back to the drawing board when they missed out on 2027 four-star quarterback Wonderful "Champ" Monds. Earlier this week, it was reported that three-star Logan Flaherty was the new top target at the position, and that they were pushing for a commitment by the end of the week.

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights have also gotten heavily involved in the recruitment of Flaherty, especially after he decommitted from the UCF Knights. However, Noles247's Zach Blostein believes that FSU will ultimately win this recruiting battle as he's logged a crystal ball prediction for the Seminoles to land Flaherty.

In December of 2024, Florida State hosted Flaherty for a Junior Day event. He visited FSU three times in 2025, which included attending an the home opener against the Alabama Crimson Tide. Flaherty was also in Tallahassee back in March for an unofficial visit.

He's listed as the No. 725 overall recruit and the No. 40 quarterback in the nation per the 247Sports composite rankings. Flaherty is also listed as the No. 66 prospect in the state of Florida.

Flaherty would be a nice addition to a Seminoles' recruiting class that needs a boost. It's currently ranked No. 33 for the 2027 cycle with just six commitments.
