The No. 9 Florida State Seminoles beat the NC State Wolfpack 11-5 on Saturday at Dick Howser Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida. They evened the series with the win and improved to 18-4 overall and 4-1 in ACC games.

The Seminoles and Wolfpack traded runs to start before FSU pulled away with a six-run sixth inning, taking a commanding 11-4 lead. Brayden Dowd had the biggest swing of the game, hitting a grand slam to put them up 9-4. Kelvyn Paulino Jr. provided another insurance run with a double before John Stuetzer singled him home to cap off the inning.

Myles Bailey continued his power surge, hitting a two-run homer in the first and a solo home run in the fifth. He now has 12 home runs this season and three this series. The Seminoles finished with 14 hits, seven of which went for extra bases.

While Bailey gave FSU an early lead, NC State immediately answered back with a run in the second inning. Trey Beard was able to limit them to one run, getting a strikeout to leave the bases loaded. Stuetzer and Chase Williams hit back-to-back doubles in the bottom of the inning to make it a 3-1 FSU lead.

NC State took its first lead in the fourth, working three walks to load the bases with one out. A fielder's choice got an out at home before Cal Fisher made a two-out error, allowing one run to score and the inning to continue. A single allowed two more runs to score, giving NC State a 4-3 lead.

Chris Kneir replaced Beard, and while he walked the first batter, he got the next to strand two runners and keep it a one-run game. Beard allowed four runs (one earned) in three 2/3 innings on six hits and four walks. He struckout seven batters.

The Seminoles quickly tied the game in the bottom of the inning after Stuetzer hit a leadoff single and stole second before getting to third on a Will Bavaro single. Fisher drove him in with a groundout, making it a 4-4 game. Bailey broke the tie in the fifth with his solo homer before they erupted for six runs in the sixth inning.

Knier did not allow a run in 1 1/3 innings, working around two walks. Brodie Purcell pitched the final four innings, allowing just one run on three hits with five strikeouts.

The teams will return to action on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed on ACC Network Extra, and the winner will take the series.
