We said on the last “Fresh Faces on the Forty” it was unlikely the series was really finished. Well, over the weekend Sean Miller added another player to the Longhorns 2026 roster. This time, it’s Mantas Laurencikas, a 20-year-old point guard from Lithuania who was playing in France. He played for Lithuania the last four seasons on the FIBA level and brings strong prospects to the backcourt.

2025 Stats: 13 PPG, 5 RPG, 4.4 APG for Espoirs Monaco

Laurencikas comes into Austin with an old friend waiting for him. Matas Vokietaitis grew up just 40 miles from Laurencikas and they actually played together for three years in Kaunas, Lithuania. They also played alongside each other during the U18 and U20 FIBA competitions for Lithuania. He rejoins his former teammate and could add some needed connection to Sean Miller’s squad.

NEWS: Mantas Laurencikas has committed to Texas, Gersh Sports tells DraftExpress.

Laurencikas is a true point guard with a great feel for the game. He averaged just over 4 assists per game in his last season for Espoirs Monaco and brings tons of confidence in pick-and-rolls. With Vokietaitis and David Punch, that could be an incredibly valuable skill for this offense. The transition from international basketball to the college game will be something to watch, but he has all the tools to be an instant contributor for Texas.

The Texas roster is officially one spot from full. Laurencikas is a very strong addition, adding connection with Vokietaitis and the ability to develop into a true star point guard. I expect to break down at least one more “fresh face” on the Texas basketball roster. For now, Sean Miller and his staff continue to add confidence, experienced players to a very talented roster.
