After four-star edge rusher Chaz Gray announced his commitment to the Washington Huskies on Tuesday, four-star cornerback Kamil Loud is the only prospect who was on campus that weekend who is not pledged to Jedd Fisch's 2027 class.
With 247Sports' most recent rankings update and some changes to his official visit schedule, that may have become a more difficult task for secondary coach John Richardson. The 6-foot, 170-pound Loud, a product of Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, was upgraded to the nation's No. 212 overall prospect and No. 26 cornerback by the recruiting site, and Richardson has some stiff competition for his services.
After cutting his list of 22 offers down to a top six of Auburn, California, Florida State, Miami, and Utah, Loud has set official visits with coach Tosh Lupoi and the Golden Bears for June 11, and with coach Mike Norvell and the Seminoles for June 19.
As the Huskies continue to hunt for reinforcements on the back end of the defense following a strong 2026 class, which was headlined by four-star safety Gavin Day and four-star cornerbacks Rahsjon Duncan and Jeron Jones, Loud is the ideal prospect for what Richardson and defensive coordinator Ryan Walters are looking for in an outside cornerback.
"His feet are quick and crisp while mirroring routes, and he shows great awareness of route combinations and when the ball is coming out," Huskies Wire's Alex Katson wrote in an evaluation of Loud's film. "He has good length that he uses to get connected to receivers quickly, but is also highly aware of when he can and can't be overly physical with his matchup to avoid penalties. He muddies opposing receivers' route stems over and over again on tape, making it a difficult proposition to even attempt a throw in his direction."
Washington currently holds two commitments in the secondary from four-star safety Isala Aisa Wily-Ava and three-star cornerback Maurice Williams.
