Former Xavier Musketeers assistant coach Trey Scotti has been named the ninth head boys basketball coach at McNicholas High School, the school announced Wednesday.
Scotti graduated from Indiana University in 2017 and served as the head manager of Tom Crean's Hoosiers from 2013-2017.
Scotti began at Xavier during the 2017-18 campaign under Chris Mack as a graduate assistant. That season, Xavier earned the program's first-ever No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Scotti was promoted to video coordinator when Travis Steele took over in 2018 and later Director of Basketball Operations.
Scotti moved on to become the head coach at The Skill Factory in Atlanta, Georgia, where he coached a few Xavier signees in Kam Craft and Tyrell Ward in the Class of 2022.
After two seasons, Scotti joined the training team at Ohio Champion Basketball in Cincinnati in June 2023.
Scotti replaces Tim Monahan, who announced last month that the school would not be renewing his contract. McNicholas finished fourth in the Greater Catholic League-Coed (12-12 overall) last season and went to the district finals in 2024.
