The career of former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Plaxico Burress was tumultuous to say the least. After being a first-round pick of the Steelers back in 2000 and was successful in his first five years. Burress then left via free agency to join the New York Giants and while he had success, it's when everything went wrong.
Even before Burress accidentally shot himself in the leg in November of 2008 with a gun he didn't possess legally, Burress had been a problem for the Giants. Burress spent two years incarcerated for the offense and after his release, attempted to resume his NFL career, this time with the New York Jets.
Burress recently took a serious shot at the Jets when he compared playing for the Jets to his time in Prison.
"They're both kind of similar because when I walked into prison on my first day, I was like, 'damn man you a (expletive) loser.'", Burress said. "And I had the same damn feeling every day I walked through the door with the Jets. They're both kind of similar because when I walked into prison on my first day, I was like, 'damn man you a freaking loser.' And I had the same damn feeling every day I walked through the door with the Jets."
The Jets went 8-8 in Burress' one season and he caught 45 passes for 612 yards and 8 receiving touchdowns. Burress actually returned to Pittsburgh for his final two NFL seasons but was a non-factor.
