Former Red Sox Top Prospect Calls Alex Cora, Chad Tracy 'Very Similar' originally appeared on NESN. Add NESN as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Former top prospect Kristian Campbell had the rare opportunity to play under both Chad Tracy and Alex Cora.
The Worcester Red Sox infielder-outfielder played for Tracy in Triple-A in 2024, 2025 and 2026 (before the latter took over as Boston's interim manager), as well as Cora for 67 MLB games last season.
Campbell discussed the duo in an interview with NBC Sports Boston.
"They're very similar. They're both really good managers, in my opinion," the 23-year-old said. "They both know how to manage the game, they both know how to relate to the players, and they've both played professional baseball, so they have a lot in common. From my point of view, I had a good time with both of them, and I think they did a really good job at their job."
Cora was fired on April 25 following the Red Sox's 17-1 win against the Baltimore Orioles.
Boston has improved thus far under Tracy with a 12-10 record after starting the year 10-17 under Cora.
