A Rock Hill, S.C. native and former Carolina Panthers pass rusher has returned home . . . well, to his first NFL home, at least.
According to Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney has agreed to terms on a deal with the Houston Texans. The Texans selected Clowney out of the University of South Carolina with the No. 1 overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft.
Clowney played his first five pro campaigns in Houston, where he'd become a three-time Pro Bowler. He went on to pick up stints with the Seattle Seahawks (2019), Tennessee Titans (2020), Cleveland Browns (2021 to 2022), Baltimore Ravens (2023), Carolina Panthers (2024) and Dallas Cowboys (2025).
In the lone season with his hometown Panthers, Clowney tied for a team-leading 5.5 sacks while amassing 46 combined tackles and four passes defensed. 2025 saw the then-32-year-old record 8.5 sacks over 13 games in Dallas.
