While many of the non-draft Notre Dame football players had already gotten either undrafted free agent deals or rookie mini camp invites, wide receiver Kris Mitchell has been in limbo for a bit longer.
Fortunately, that ended on Thursday, as it was announced that the receiver had signed a rookie mini camp deal with the Las Vegas Raiders. Mitchell didn’t nearly have the same success in 2024 that he had in 2023, as he has a pretty big drop in production.
The move from Florida International to Notre Dame proved to be a much bigger challenge than expected, but Mitchell is still a talented receiver. It was enough for the Raiders to invite him to their camp, as they don’t have much proven depth at the position.
Mitchell has the potential to make the team, but he’s going to have to do it the hard way. As head coach Marcus Freeman has harped on recently, delayed gratification hopefully will come for him in his NFL career.
