There won't be much news around the NFL for the next month between OTAs and training camp, but one of the biggest storylines to monitor is the potential return of Aaron Donald. Who knows when we'll get news about his decision for the 2026 season, but he's certainly keeping everyone on their toes.

Michael Brockers, Quentin Lake and other players have teased Donald's return but no one can say for sure whether he's coming back or not.

Recently, Cayden's Corner on TikTok asked former NFL stars whether they think Donald will be back in 2026, and they all believe he will. LeSean McCoy previously hinted at Donald returning and he teased that possibility again in this video.

Cam Newton, Chad Johnson and Robert Griffin III all think Donald will play this season, too.

LeSean McCoy: “You know Aaron Donald’s one of my best friends. I can’t tell you everything, but I’ll tell you this much: He’s thinking about it. That’s all I can give you.”

Cam Newton: “Absolutely.”

Chad Johnson: “Aaron Donald, I would assume would come out of retirement. To play with someone the caliber like Myles Garrett, and bringing Aaron Donald back despite him being removed two years from the game.”

Najee Harris: “If AD comes out of retirement, bro, I would love to play against that defense. And I want both of their jerseys.”

Robert Griffin III: “I do think he comes back. I think it’s a 100% guarantee he’s coming back. You don’t work out like that on Instagram for no reason.”

T.J. Houshmandzadeh: “If I’m Aaron Donald, I come back tomorrow, I’m going to be single-blocked for probably the first time in my career because everybody’s going to double Myles.”

Donald had a lot of great teammates in his career, from Ndamukong Suh and Robert Quinn to Von Miller and Leonard Floyd, but you could make the case that Garrett – right next to Miller – would be his most talented running mate yet.

As Houshmanzadeh said, Donald would face an abundance of one-on-one matchups with Garrett on the same defensive line, giving him ample opportunities to rack up the sacks in what would be a storybook ending to his career.
