The college football spring transfer portal window closed on Friday, but names are still surfacing in the ensuing days.
The latest name that has officially surfaced in the portal hails from a program with a tumultuous offseason in the Stanford Cardinal. Following the March firing of head coach Troy Taylor, who was revealed to have "bullied and belittled female athletic staffers," the program has been hit hard by players leaving the portal.
In addition to losing the team's best pass rusher, David Bailey (Texas Tech), the Cardinal have seen departures from corner Julian Neal (Arkansas), wide receiver Emmett Mosley (Texas) and quarterback Bear Bachmeier (undecided). On Monday, it was revealed that Bachmeier's older brother, and the team's most proven receiver, Tiger Bachmeier, would also be entering his name into the transfer portal.
As confirmed by On3's Pete Nakos, the older Bachmeier brother entered with a "do not contact" tag, which likely means he has a destination in mind.

In his two seasons at Stanford, Bachmeier recorded 46 catches for 476 yards and two touchdowns, while also adding a rushing touchdown and a punt return touchdown.
As a four-star recruit in the 2023 class, Bachmeier chose Stanford over programs such as Arizona State, Cal, Colorado and Boise State where his older brother Hank started his career.
At this time, it is unclear if he and his younger brother Bear are a package deal or plan to transfer to different programs. However, it is worth noting that the Cardinal have now lost a total of 26 players to the portal this offseason.
With Frank Reich serving as the interim head coach this season the program will look for a permanent solution at head coach after the year, there may not be a school in college football with a tougher year ahead of them than Stanford. The Cardinal have gone 3-9 for four seasons in a row.
