It looks like Florida A&M football has a spot in the schedule to fill for 2028.
Georgia’s 2028 home game against FAMU is off after the schools mutually agreed to cancel the game, according to a Jan. 13 letter obtained by the Athens Banner-Herald this week in an open records request. The letter from Georgia athletic director Josh Brooks to Florida A&M athletic director John Davis detailed the cancellation terms. Brooks and Davis signed it.
The game was scheduled for Sept. 9, 2028, in Athens. The game was agreed to in December of 2020.
The schools agreed to terminate the contract and that there would be no “payment requirements,” for the cancellation.
Georgia and Florida State announced in May they had mutually agreed to cancel home-and-home games for 2027 and 2028 and would work to play a neutral site game.
That is focused on a game in 2028. Reports last month said the schools would play that game in Nashville, but neither school has confirmed that.
