During the 2025 recruiting cycle, the Texas Longhorns put together the No. 1 class.

Headlined by four five-star recruits who each are expected to make an immediate impact this upcoming season after the team saw 12 players taken in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Longhorns were able to win out in some of the biggest recruitments in the country.

However, the top-ranked player in the class who may have the biggest impact as a freshman is five-star safety Jonah Williams. He ranked as the No. 6 overall player in the class and No. 1 safety in the class, and has generated plenty of buzz before suiting up for the football team.

While Steve Sarkisian and company are expecting big things out of Williams, he also plays baseball for the Longhorns. Williams didn't quite have the biggest role initially on the diamond for the No. 2 team in the country, but he has since found his way into the starting lineup over the past few series.

His athleticism in the outfield and energy on the basepaths have provided a spark, and also played a role in the team winning the SEC Championship.

Despite the fact Williams is expected to make his money as a football player, he has proven to be an impact player as a freshman on one of the deepest rosters in college baseball.

With 16 appearances and 11 starts, Williams is hitting .308 with seven RBIs, while also boasting a perfect fielding percentage on defense.

As the Longhorns look to make a deep postseason run, it's unclear what Williams' role will be as he has started 11 of the last 12 games he's appeared in. However, it is clear that there is a special athlete on the 40 acres.

According to On3, Williams has a $442,000 NIL Valuation, and if he continues to excel in both sports, it may have a chance to skyrocket even more. Williams will have some catching up to do on the gridiron, but based on how quickly he made an impact on the diamond once given the chance, he won't be shying away from the challenge.
