The American Rodeo semi finals round wrapped up Friday night. The top 5 athletes advanced to the finals Saturday in Globe Life.

Among the 5 breakaway ropers advancing is Madison Outhier. Outhier was 1.95 to top the field and advance.

Outheir has a history of success at The American rodeo. In fact, at just 16 years old, she became the very first American rodeo breakaway champion. That was a win that really put her on the map and she has not slowed down since.

The American was one of the first to add the ladies breakaway to the schedule. At the time, the breakaway ropers were not eligible for the million dollar bonus though. Now, this year, if Outhier can repeat she could be 2 million dollars richer.

The Showdown round puts the 5 advancing contenders from yesterday head to head with the top 5 in the World Standings from 2025. If one of the contenders take the win, they will get their share of the 2 million dollar bonus.

Madison Outhier is only one of the 5 eligible for that bonus. Also advancing from the semi finals tonight round yesterday is million dollar cowgirl Jackie Crawford. Crawford split the million dollar bonus with tie down roper Ty Harris a few years back. If Jackie is the champ again this year she’d be the first to get apart of the bonus twice.

The 2024 World Champion Kelsie Domer, Rickie Fanning, and Fallon Ruffoni will also be 2 million dollar eligible.

Those 5 ladies are going up against the 5 invitees from the 2025 World Standings. The ladies roping for $100,000 are World Champion Taylor Munsell, Josie Conner, Rylee George, and Aspen Miller. Shelby Meged also got the invite, but recently welcomed her first baby, and won’t rope in Arlington.

Only one lady will be crowned the 2026 American Champion Breakaway Roper but there is a roster full of talented ones in the Showdown. Madison Outhier won the first one, and with the way she is roping in Globe Life, it looks like she wants another American title.

2 million dollars on the line, and it all comes down to today.
