Indiana Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell has been wearing Tyrese Haliburton's first signature shoe, the Hali 1s, throughout the early stretch of the season. Now we know why.
In a post on Haliburton's X account, he announces the Fever star's new Puma sponsorship.
"You're family now, you already know what it is," said Haliburton on the phone to Mitchell as she unboxes a pair of his signature shoes in the announcement video.
Many fans have speculated this might be coming based on Mitchell's on-court sneaker choice this season. Nonetheless, the speculation is now a reality as she is confirmed as a Puma athlete.
Less than a year after the debut of the Hali 1s, Puma signs another Indianapolis athlete; this time a WNBA star.
Breanna Stewart notably has her own signature shoe line with Puma, and is the most recognized women's basketball player the brand currently sponsors. However, the brand has now expanded to include athletes like Mitchell, Skylar Diggins-Smith, and former Fever forward NaLyssa Smith.
