On Tuesday night, FC Barcelona came close to pulling off a remarkable feat. Lamine Yamal believed in it for a long time. But in the end, the Catalans were knocked out in the Copa del Rey semi-finals.
It was a cruel scenario that unfolded at Spotify Camp Nou last night during the clash between Barça and Atlético Madrid in the Copa del Rey semi-finals (3-0). The Catalans managed to score three goals against Los Colchoneros. They truly believed they could come back and qualify. But the visitors held their defensive line until the 96th minute.
At the final whistle, Lamine Yamal quickly left the pitch. He looked visibly distraught. "Barça's farewell was a moment of unity with the fans. Lamine should have stayed with the rest of his teammates. He has the right to be the first to leave and say 'I don't want to stay,' to wave, to congratulate, and that's it. It's true he was the first to go and that drew attention," revealed Cadena SER.
