Who will hoist the Southwestern Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament title?
Third-seeded Florida A&M will definitely be in the mix as it competes for its second SWAC championship trophy.
The Rattlers (27-22) open the eight-team, double-elimination tournament against the six-seed Texas Southern (21-22) in Bracket A. The first pitch is on Wednesday, May 20, at 10 a.m. Eastern Time.
Bracket A features FAMU, Texas Southern, No. 2 Southern, and No. 7 Jackson State. Bracket B is led by top seed Bethune-Cookman, followed by No. 4 Alabama State, No. 5 Grambling State, and No. 8 Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
The SWAC Tournament will be at Rickwood Field in Birmingham. The championship game will happen on Sunday, May 24, at 2 p.m.
The entire five-day tournament will be streamed on the free SWAC TV platform.
FAMU enters the postseason with a top pitching staff, with ace and All-SWAC second teamer Caleb Granger leading the bullpen. Jay Campbell and All-SWAC First Team selection Jackson McKenzie lead its hitting efforts.
The Rattlers have won six straight games, last beating Texas Southern 9-8 in 16 innings on May 16.
FAMU won the SWAC title in 2023 and finished as runners-up in 2025, falling to Bethune-Cookman.
The tournament winner earns the SWAC’s automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament.
