The Atlanta Falcons are waiving kick returner Jamal Agnew and signing cornerback C.J. Henderson to their 53-man roster, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported. Agnew lost his starting job after fumbling during the team's Week 13 loss to the New York Jets.

Last week, the veteran return man was a healthy scratch in the Falcons' win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Wide receiver Deven Thompkins took over kick return duties and will likely continue in that role for the final three games of the season.

Henderson, a former top-10 pick, has spent most of the season on Atlanta's practice squad. The Jacksonville Jaguars originally drafted Henderson with the ninth overall pick in 2020 but traded him to the Carolina Panthers early in the 2021 season.

The former Florida Gators cornerback has appeared in 49 career games (32 starts), recording 172 tackles (139 solo), 16 passes defended and three interceptions. Henderson can help add depth in the secondary with Mike Hughes ruled out for Sunday's game.
