Fabrizio Romano’s latest update on Casemiro has landed with far more weight because the Manchester United midfielder is already confirmed to be leaving Old Trafford at the end of the season.
That turns what might have felt like routine transfer noise into something much more concrete, especially with Inter Miami now pushing to place him alongside Lionel Messi.
It also means the conversation is no longer about whether Casemiro could leave, but where he goes next.

Fabrizio Romano says Inter Miami have made first move for Casemiro
Romano shared the update on X as Inter Miami stepped forward in the race for Casemiro.
“Understand Inter Miami have started talks with Casemiro’s camp as first proposal has been sent!” Romano said.
He added: “Casemiro, open to Miami move with ambitious project and personal life. Deal depends on financial proposal, as he received more bids from Europe/Saudi.”
The important part here is not just Miami’s interest, but Casemiro’s openness to the project, which gives the move genuine substance rather than just curiosity.
With Europe and Saudi Arabia also in the picture, Inter Miami will still need to win the financial battle, but they are clearly in it early.
Casemiro has already confirmed he is leaving Manchester United this summer
Casemiro’s situation is no longer speculative because Manchester United have already confirmed that he will leave the club this summer when his contract expires.
The club announced the decision in January, and Casemiro himself said he would always remain a United supporter even as his four-year spell at Old Trafford comes to an end.
That makes the MLS angle more natural, especially with Inter Miami continuing to build around star power, experience and players who can immediately raise the level around Messi.
A move there would not just reunite elite pedigree with an ambitious project, it would also place Casemiro in one of the few environments capable of matching both his profile and his lifestyle priorities.
That is why Romano’s update feels like a genuine transfer shift rather than a passing rumor.
