The Premier League season is over (thank God) and soccer’s attention now turns towards this summer’s World Cup, hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. I know a lot of supporters aren’t planning on watching or even paying much attention to the World Cup because of… let’s just say reasons and leave it at that with no further discussion, but a lot more people are, and it’d be foolish for Spurs to not at least track the Tottenham Hotspur players who will be in North America this summer.
So since we haven’t done this yet, let’s formally list every Spurs player who will be at the World Cup. There are fewer than in past tournaments (especially 2018 when it felt like half the England squad were Lilywhite) but maybe more than you’d think.
A few countries — Mexico, Qatar, etc. — have yet to announce their final rosters, but none of them will feature Tottenham players anyway. And sure, we’ll include Andy Robertson just for funzies. (Marcos Senesi, alas, did not make Argentina’s World Cup squad, apparently left out for Nicolas Otamendi.)
Tottenham players at the World Cup 2026
- Cristian Romero – Argentina (Group
- Kevin Danso – Austria (Group
- Luka Vuskovic – Croatia (Group
- Djed Spence – England (Group
- Micky van de Ven – Netherlands (Group
- Pape Matar Sarr – Senegal (Group
- Lucas Bergvall – Sweden (Group
- Pedro Porro – Spain (Group
- Rodrigo Bentancur – Uruguay (Group
- Andy Robertson – Scotland (Group D) *
* — reportedly joining Spurs this summer on a free transfer, presently unconfirmed by the club
In addition, and because why not, I also scoured the rosters of all 48 teams participating to find a list of all former Tottenham players who are also planning to be in North America for the tournament. You’re welcome.
Former Tottenham Players at the World Cup 2026
- Son Heung-Min – South Korea (Group A)
- Nabil Bentaleb – Algeria (Group
- Davinson Sanchez – Colombia (Group
- Luka Modric – Croatia (Group
- Ivan Perisic – Croatia (Group
- Harry Kane – England (Group
- Noni Madueke – England (Group
Honestly, I expected a few more former Spurs on this list. But put it in the comments if I somehow missed a Spurs youth player who slipped into the tournament somewhere.
