The action of NBA Summer League has officially arrived, and yet again, Alabama basketball is set to be represented well at the professional level over the coming weeks.
In what is the first professional action for recent NBA draft picks, Alabama's list of Summer League participants this year is headlined by Labaron Philon Jr., who was recently selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the No. 22 overall pick.
Alabama's 2025-26 team also has two others who will play in Summer League in undrafted guards Latrell Wrightsell Jr. and Houston Mallette, who will suit up for the Charlotte Hornets and Chicago Bulls, respectively.
In addition to those three, recent Alabama players such as Mark Sears, Grant Nelson, and Chris Youngblood are set to participate in Summer League, the latter two of which will be with the Brooklyn Nets and Portland Trail Blazers, a pair of teams they finished the 2025-26 NBA season with. Sears will play with the Denver Nuggets after spending a majority of the season in the NBA G League with the Milwaukee Bucks.
Rounding out Alabama's NBA Summer League participants will be a pair of veterans in Kira Lewis Jr. and Alex Reese. Lewis was a teammate of Sears in the NBA G League this past season, while Reese will be playing with the Indiana Pacers this summer.
NBA Summer League will begin July 3-7 with both the California Classic and the Salt Lake City Summer League. The main NBA Summer League in Las Vegas will take place July 9-19.
