Everton have signed defender Hannah Blundell on a permanent deal following her loan spell last season.

The 32-year-old made 10 appearances last term on loan from Manchester United.

She became a free agent when her contract at United ended in June, and Everton had always hoped to bring her back to Merseyside.

"It is a proud moment for me and my family and is something I wanted to do," said Blundell.

"As soon as I knew Scott [Phelan] was going to be the manager, it was an easy decision. I want to play alongside these players.

"You could see the happiness we had at the World Sevens tournament in May. I think everyone showed their true colours. The club is a very special one.

"I am extremely proud to be wearing the badge properly this time. Hopefully we can create some special memories together."

Blundell, who has three England caps, spent five years at United and made almost 100 appearances.

She progressed from Chelsea's academy and played for their first team for eight years before leaving in 2021.

Blundell gave birth to her daughter in March 2025 and made her return to football later last year.
