It's that time of year again. "ESPN 8: The Ocho" is returning to broadcasts this weekend for a a special and super wacky 10th annual edition.
"The Ocho" is known to bring the most unconventional and obscure sports to national attention, completely taking over ESPN platforms for four days every summer. In celebration of 10 years, more than 75 hours of various competitions will be featured for fan entertainment.
This year's slate will include 23 brand new sports, like Broom Hockey, Pumpkin Toss and Hacky Sack, alongside the original fan favorites like Ultimate Frisbee, Cornhole and Slippery Stairs. And yet again, coverage will be highlighted by the Savannah Bananas as they take on the Loco Beach Coconuts from Target Field in Minneapolis.
It doesn't get any more niche than this.

You'll find most of the "ESPN8: The Ocho" action on ESPN2 and ESPNU, starting at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday, Aug. 6. The Friday night game featuring the Savannah Bananas will air on ESPN.

What is ESPN8: The Ocho?
The fictional network first appeared in the 2004 film "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story."
In the movie, it carried the broadcasting rights for the dodgeball championship between Average Joe's and Globo Gym. Commentators Cotton McKnight (Gary Cole) and Pepper Brooks (Jason Bateman) were on the call as Average Joe's, led by Peter La Fleur (Vince Vaughn), upset White Goodman (Ben Stiller) and his Globo Gym team.
It made its real-life debut in 2017, when ESPN finally decided to bring it into existence as a televised showcase of obscure sports from around the world. Its motto and mission remain simple: "Bringing You the Finest in Seldom-Seen Sports."
ESPN8: The Ocho TV schedule 2026
Most events for "ESPN8: The Ocho"will air on ESPN2 and ESPNU. On Friday, the matchup between the Savannah Bananas and Loco Beach Coconuts will air on ESPN at 8 p.m. ET.
