The Colorado Buffaloes' transfer portal class this offseason received high praise from various media outlets, including ESPN metric guru Bill Connelly.
Connelly went so far as to name the Buffs' 40-plus transfer class as a top-3 unit in college football. In his most recent article highlighting his breakout teams and bounce-back contenders, Connelly listed Colorado as a prime candidate to rebound from a 3-9 season.
The biggest reason Connelly believes in the 2026 Buffs is the sheer amount of productive players Deion Sanders and company brought in.
Connelly is preaching what we have been saying all offseason: that the Buffaloes have more talent than people realize, and we agree with Connelly that there are significantly more proven players than the very talented 9-win 2024 team had.
Now, the new group does have to jell, and that is never a given considering the amount of chemistry that needs to be developed in such a short time. Brennan Marion should help with that on the offensive side, and even if he stays for just one season, Connelly believes he was a prudent hire.
Colorado opens fall camp next week on Monday, Aug. 2, in Colorado Springs and will kick off the season about a month later in Atlanta against Georgia Tech on Sept. 3.
