Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark is heading into her second WNBA season after putting together one of the best rookie campaigns in league history. She took home Rookie of the Year honors, earned a spot on the All-WNBA First Team, was named an All-Star, led the league in assists, and even finished top five in MVP voting.
Through it all, she averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 8.4 assists per game in 2024.
With the Fever set to open the 2025 WNBA season on Saturday, excitement among fans is building fast. Clark is the current MVP favorite (+200 via ESPN Bet) and is expected to take on a larger leadership role this year, now surrounded by a stronger veteran core that includes Sophie Cunningham, DeWanna Bonner, Brianna Turner, and Natasha Howard.

She may be just 23, but the question is, will this be the year Clark takes her biggest leap?
ESPN's Kevin Pelton thinks it's possible and believes it could happen during the 2025 WNBA Playoffs, when the stakes are highest.
"Clark's biggest leap could ultimately be in the playoffs," Pelton said. "As the No. 6 seed, Indiana was swept by the third-seeded Connecticut Sun without getting a home game last season. With Bonner and Howard, the Fever are now favorites to earn home-court advantage in the opening round and win a playoff series for the first time since reaching the 2015 WNBA Finals. Clark has always shined on the biggest stages and now has a team capable of getting her there as a pro."
Clark and the Fever aren't worried about the playoffs just yet. Their main focus is on Saturday's opener, which is a big one against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET on ABC.
