ESPN NFL mock draft 2026 has Cardinals QB trade into Round 1

Of the teams who could target a quarterback of the future in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals have to be top of the list.

Kyler Murray is a Minnesota Vikings QB now. The QB room in Arizona includes Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew. So it would make perfect sense for Arizona to grab a quarterback. In our latest NFL mock draft from Christian D'Andrea, he's got the Cardinals taking Texas Tech EDGE David Bailey with the No. 3 pick. But as we saw in a previous ESPN mock, the Cards could potentially trade into the first round.

So in the latest ESPN mock from Field Yates, he's got them taking Ohio State EDGE Arvell Reese and then trading with the Bills to get pick No. 26 and taking Alabama QB Ty Simpson. Here's his take:

Through the early part of the 2025 season, Simpson stood out with his ability to navigate the pocket and throw with accuracy and power when he can set his feet. With Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew on Arizona's depth chart, the team can bring Simpson along methodically. All 15 of his collegiate starts came this past season.
